Fixing the Locksit to your bike:
1. To fix to your handlebars, remove the Locksit from the packaging and put the bottom half of the fixing band on the handlebars making sure there is enough room for your hands once the unit is on.
2. Put the main unit over the handlebars, lining up the screws. The two halves fit together so that the screws and nuts can meet and pull together. (Dependent on the handlebar size, if the two halves don’t meet, try removing half/the whole of the rubber inner and re-try).
3. Ensure that it is tight enough so that the light does not rock when cycling.
4. Using the “normal” screws and a Philips screw driver, screw two opposite screws in ¾ of the way. Make sure you are happy with the position.
5. Screw the other “normal” screw in and double check you are happy with the position.
6. Finally, when you are happy with the position of the Locksit, using a flat headed screw driver, screw the security screw in. (Once this is in place, it will be very hard to change positons).
7. The Locksit is now in place and ready to be used as a helmet lock.

Safety is at the heart of our values. We believe helmet portability should never be

Safety issues arising from cycling in towns & cities are well documented. However it

CONVENIENCE–Never carry your helmet around again!
Locksit is a welcome relief, especially to commuters & the casual rider. By locking you helmet securely to your bike you will never have to carry it around with you again.
It can be a real inconvenience to lug your helmet around and can cause a nuisance on busy trains, buses & public places. No other specifically designed product exists on the market to lock your helmet safely & securely to your bike. As a result people either don’t wear one, carry it, or loop it clumsily through their bike lock, leaving it to dangle on the floor.
Feedback has praised the fact that the Locksit draws your helmet neatly to your handlebars. This means is it well off the floor and conveniently out of other people’s way, especially at bike stands.
Another problem people encounter is not having somewhere to store your helmet once you reach your destination. Not every workplace, school, university, coffee shop etc. has somewhere suitable.
We have also designed a range of helmet covers to protect your helmet from the elements. We want to ensure putting on a wet helmet on will be a thing of the past!
SIMPLICITY – We want to make your life that little bit safer & easier
Simple innovation drives our products. We believe it is not always necessary to re-invent the wheel or to overcomplicate solutions. Our products therefore are easy and straightforward to use.
Our range currently includes the Locksit and the helmet cover, with more exciting products in the pipeline.
All products are UK designed, have undergone rigorous testing and are well made to high specifications after undergoing a careful manufacturing selection process.
MEET THE TEAM
Who's Behind Locksit?
Locksit was started in June 2013 and was the idea and brain child of Martin St-Gallay. Throughout the first stages of the design, development and initial phases Martin has used a number of specialists unknown to him for the design, development and testing of the prototypes.
In May 2014 he met up with an old University friend Cato Choi who he knew had contacts and people in the right places. Martin and Cato have worked on this together to turn the product into a mass produced reality at the most efficient and best possible costs, having had numerous costings and pricing from other specialists who were charging the earth. Having used personal and family contacts Cato has managed to cut the production and development costs to ensure that this project was able to brought to life, but also ensure the quality is consistent at the factory side with contacts in the Far East and is now involved in the Production, Development and the Logistics for Locksit.
Having used the London Bike Show in February 2015 as a showcase and soft laucnh the team has subsequently added Jonathan Glover in order to help take this to the mass market. With his background in Sales & Marketing and project management launching various ventures in numerous fields, we have recently used Spin London as our springboard for the product to help get Kickstarter moving....!
A keen entrepreneur and ideas man who has many years of experience developing and managing teams and inventing products which are simple, yet effective. Martin has been involved with many start-ups and businesses in many different fields, and specialises in the legalities having worked hard on the patent to get that finalised and secured in April 2015.
“The Builder & Navigator”
Cato has had a wealth of experience in the development of many small to medium sized businesses. Working within the sports and leisure sector through his career, he is well connected in this area as well as having experienced family members who have worked with factories on the supply chain side of sourcing products from China and Hong Kong. Also with consultancy and hands on logistical experience as an Commercial & Operations Director for a serviced based logistics business recently he has been brought on board to make this project a reality.
Jon is the newest member of the team, but has already had impact in driving the product and the business forward already in the short space of time he has been with the team. He has a huge background in developing new ideas and concepts and turning them into a reality. Once set up he has then driven sales and marketing through all channels on a number of occasions for both service related industries and products alike with a huge amount of success.
OUR JOURNEY – a word from the inventor
The idea for Locksit was born after I saw a father riding with a helmet followed by his son without one. Following this, I started to notice how common a sight this actually was.The use of cycling helmets is a much debated topic, and yet what remains clear throughout any discussion is the significant benefit they have on a cyclist’s safety.
I always noticed people either didn’t wear a helmet (creating a huge safety issue), carried one (an inconvenience) or threaded it clumsily through their bike lock leaving it to dangle on the floor (creating an obstruction).
As no one had specifically designed a product to simply lock your helmet to your bike safely and securely, I decided to invent the Locksit. I took it’s rough sketches to a UK designer in December 2012 and two and a half years, three prototypes and secure worldwide patents later, it was finished.
As a parent of three, I know that it’s imperative that children wear helmets. Only 18% of kids under 14 wear one, and this demographic is actually at the greatest risk. We want to make peoples life that little bit safer and easier. If we can encourage helmet use, especially among children, then we will have achieved our overriding corporate goal”.
